Our Origin Story

What a decade of Florida homes taught us.

TLS started in 2015 with a problem worth solving. Florida homeowners were paying steep cooling bills, and the work being done in their attics — the insulation that should have kept that cooled air inside — was often rushed, undersized, or simply wrong. Seth Hoerig founded the company on a different idea: do the work right the first time, and treat every home like it belonged to a neighbor.

For the first several years, TLS was an insulation company. Our crews handled attic insulation, blown-in and batt work across Southwest Florida. We learned the climate from the inside out — what holds up against the humidity, the salt air, the long summers, and the hurricane seasons.

Then a pattern became impossible to ignore. The homes we insulated kept calling back — not because the insulation failed, but because their AC systems were undersized, mismatched, or installed in ways that fought against the envelope we'd just sealed. Homeowners weren't getting the comfort they paid for, and they didn't know who to call. So we became that call.

We picked up our Florida HVAC license, expanded the team, and rebuilt as TLS Energy Savers — a whole-home contractor, with cooling at the center. Today we operate from six office locations with more than 30 in-house technicians, serving over 50,000 households across 100+ Florida cities. We're authorized in Duke Energy and FPL utility programs. And the same family that started this in 2015 still runs it.
