TLS Air Conditioning & Insulation is a family-founded Florida home comfort company. Brothers Seth and Thomas Hoerig started the business together in 2015. Seth developed its insulation expertise, while Thomas leads the HVAC side.
Their combined experience helps TLS evaluate ductwork, cooling equipment, airflow, and insulation together. This matters because poor airflow may come from leakage, damage, incorrect sizing, or inadequate insulation.
For ductwork replacement, we first inspect the existing system and identify the failure. We then explain whether sealing, targeted repair, or complete replacement makes better sense. This approach helps homeowners avoid paying for work their home does not need.
Florida attic heat, restricted access, and ageing flex duct can complicate replacement work. Our team considers these conditions before recommending materials, routing, sealing, and insulation.
TLS operates seven offices across Florida’s Gulf Coast. They are located in Tampa, St. Petersburg, Pinellas Park, Sarasota, Venice, North Port, and Punta Gorda. All approved HVAC work is completed under Florida HVAC Contractor License #CAC1822364.
Duct problems often look like AC problems from inside the house. Here’s what actually points to the ductwork.
Your duct system carries every bit of conditioned air your AC produces to every room in the house. When ductwork is old, crushed, disconnected, or was never sized right for the equipment it’s paired with, patching one leak at a time stops being worth it. Here’s what a full ductwork replacement with TLS Air Conditioning & Insulation actually includes.
We pull out every section of old, damaged, or undersized ductwork, supply and return alike, instead of patching around the worst of it. What goes back in is new ductwork built for your home’s actual layout, not a rerun of whatever was installed the first time.
Ductwork that’s too small chokes airflow. Ductwork that’s too large lets air lose speed and temperature before it reaches a register. We size every new duct run to your home’s layout and square footage and to the AC or heat pump it feeds, not a generic template pulled off a shelf.
Installing new cooling or heating equipment onto old, mismatched ductwork limits what that equipment can actually do. When you replace an AC or furnace, we check whether the existing duct system can support the new unit, and build new ductwork when it can’t.
Every new duct run we install gets sealed at each joint and connection, then insulated, especially through attic space where Florida heat gains on conditioned air fast. That combination is what keeps cooled air cooled between your system and your rooms.
Once new ductwork is in, we test airflow at the registers to confirm the system delivers what it’s designed to deliver, not just that the boxes are connected. That final check is part of the job, not an add-on.
Not every duct problem needs a full replacement. If your ductwork is structurally sound with a handful of leaks or loose connections, sealing and repair is the right fix, and we handle that separately from a full system replacement. This page covers ductwork that’s damaged, undersized, or old enough that replacement is the more cost-effective long-term call.
A duct replacement quote costs nothing to find out. TLS Air Conditioning & Insulation inspects your existing ductwork, shows you exactly what’s failing, and gives you a written scope before any work starts.
Most ductwork in Southwest Florida homes runs through the attic, the hottest part of the house. Insulation keeps that heat from soaking into the duct wall before cooled air ever reaches a room.
Thin or missing insulation lets attic heat transfer straight into the duct, warming the air and making your AC run longer for the same setting. Insulation is literally half our name, so we hold duct insulation to the same standard as attic insulation.
Insulation wrapped around a leaky duct still leaks. We check every joint and seam before insulating, since sealing stops the air loss and insulation stops the heat transfer.
Insulation alone won’t fix a comfort problem caused by airflow, duct sizing, or a failing filter. We evaluate the full duct system, not insulation on its own.
Here’s exactly what happens when you call TLS Air Conditioning & Insulation for a ductwork replacement, from the first inspection to the final airflow test.
We get into the attic and physically inspect every duct run instead of guessing over the phone. You get a straight answer on whether you need replacement, repair, or sealing.
You get a clear, itemized proposal covering the full scope, materials, and price before any work starts, no surprise charges once the ductwork is already open.
We pull out the old duct system and install new ductwork sized to your home, sealed at every joint, and insulated for the attic space it runs through.
Before we leave, we test airflow at the registers and walk you through exactly what changed and why, so you’re not just taking our word for it.
New ducts fix airflow, but the AC system pushing air through them still needs regular attention to keep that efficiency gain. For $99 a year, billed annually, the Comfort Club keeps both sides of your comfort system covered.
Membership terms, eligible services, and equipment requirements may apply.
We inspect accessible duct runs, connections, plenums, insulation, and airflow conditions first. Replacement is recommended only when repair or sealing would not provide a reliable result.
TLS uses trained company employees rather than passing projects to outside subcontractors. This provides clearer responsibility from the first inspection through the final review.
Duct performance depends on sizing, sealing, routing, insulation, and equipment airflow. Our combined HVAC and insulation experience helps us consider the entire air-distribution system.
Homeowners receive a written proposal explaining the approved work, materials, and project price. Any optional recommendations are explained separately before additional work begins.
After installation, we inspect accessible connections and review airflow at the supply registers. We also explain the completed work and answer questions before closing the project.
These verified reviews reflect what matters most to homeowners choosing an HVAC and insulation company. Our dependable installers, clean workmanship, responsive support, honest pricing, and finished results have earned a stellar reputation across Southwest Florida.
“TLS did an amazing job on our AC replacement. I qualified for a Duke Energy rebate program and they filled out all the paperwork — completely seamless. Met the owner Seth and really enjoyed working with his crew. Everything was done beautifully, on time, and they exceeded my expectations from start to finish.”
“TLS replaced our 14-year-old AC that had been struggling for years. The new high-efficiency system cools the whole house evenly, runs much quieter, and our electric bill dropped over $80 the first month. Crew was professional, finished in one day, and the Duke Energy rebate hit our invoice directly.”
“By far the best money spent on my home. House is much more comfortable, AC barely cycles on now compared to our old system. Whisper quiet, energy-efficient, and the install was done in a single day. Crew respected our home — drop cloths everywhere, swept up before they left. Highly recommend TLS.”
“Called TLS when our AC stopped cooling on a Saturday morning. Technician arrived within two hours, diagnosed a failed capacitor, replaced it on the spot, and had the house cooling again before lunch. Honest pricing, no upsell attempts, just straightforward repair. This is the AC company we’ll use from now on.”
“AC stopped working mid-July — TLS dispatched a tech the same day. He diagnosed the issue, replaced a failed contactor and recharged the refrigerant. Had cold air blowing within 90 minutes. Reasonable price, no unnecessary parts pushed. Honest, fast, professional — exactly what you want when your AC dies in Florida summer.”
“I had three AC companies come out for replacement quotes. TLS was the most professional and thorough — Manual J load calc, written guarantee, transparent pricing. Crew installed the new system in one day, no mess, no surprises. Our home cools faster and our July bill dropped over $100. Worth every penny.”
“TLS installed a new high-efficiency AC system for us last month. The whole house is noticeably cooler, runs much quieter than our old unit, and the FPL rebate showed up on our invoice — no paperwork on our end. Quick installation, fair price, and they explained every step. Couldn’t be happier.”
“Had TLS install a new high-efficiency AC in my 2-story home. Free estimate, no pressure, clear written quote. They sized the system correctly using Manual J load calc — my old contractor had installed an oversized unit. New install runs efficiently and keeps every room at temperature. Whisper quiet.”
“TLS came out for spring AC tune-up. Cleaned the coils, checked refrigerant pressure, inspected the condensate drain, tightened electrical connections. They caught a failing capacitor before it killed the compressor — saved me thousands. Unit runs noticeably cooler since the service. Worth every dollar.”
“Second time using TLS — first for AC replacement, now for attic insulation. Both times flawless. This is the only HVAC and insulation company I’ll ever call. Their techs are knowledgeable, respectful, fast, and clean. New AC plus better insulation cut our cooling bill 35%. 5 stars doesn’t feel enough.”
“Old AC finally gave out after 13 years. TLS came out, assessed it honestly, and walked us through repair-vs-replace numbers. New high-efficiency system is incredible — runs cool and quiet, electric bill down significantly. Clean job, permit included, FPL rebate handled. Honest, fair, professional.”
“Incredible experience. TLS was on time, professional, crew was clean and efficient. Electric bill dropped significantly the first month after our AC replacement. Best investment I ever made for my home. Would 100% recommend to anyone in Florida looking for honest AC service.”

The federal Section 25C credit expired for anything installed after December 31, 2025, so ductwork completed in 2026 doesn’t qualify. Duke Energy Florida still runs a Duct Test and Repair Rebate, up to $450 per HVAC system, but it’s built for repairing existing ductwork, not full replacement, so we confirm what actually applies during your in-home estimate rather than promise it upfront.
Ductwork doesn’t carry a registered manufacturer warranty the way an AC unit does, there’s no serial number or AHRI certificate involved. What protects you is the workmanship warranty in your written proposal, backed by Florida Statutes 559.956 and 559.957, which start any warranty on the installation date and bar registration requirements. Keep your proposal and invoice on file, that’s what a claim runs on.
TLS Air Conditioning & Insulation runs seven offices across six counties, so the crew doing your ductwork replacement already knows your area’s homes and attic conditions instead of learning your market for the first time.
Where we work:
Not sure if your home falls inside our ductwork replacement service area? Give us a call. If you’re anywhere across these six counties, an in-home estimate is a call away.
Old, leaky ductwork undoes what your AC is built to do, no matter how new or efficient the unit is. TLS Air Conditioning & Insulation inspects, sizes, and replaces ductwork correctly the first time, backed by seven local offices and independent research on what a proper duct system actually saves you. Get a free, no-pressure inspection and find out what’s really going on in your attic.
Most Southwest Florida homes take one to five days depending on the size of the home and how much ductwork needs replacing. A single-system attic replacement usually falls on the shorter end, larger homes with multiple systems take longer.
Sealing fixes leaky joints on ductwork that’s otherwise sound. Repair addresses one damaged section while the rest of the system stays in place. Full replacement is for ductwork that’s old, extensively damaged, or undersized for your equipment, where patching one section at a time stops making sense.
It depends on the scope of the work and your local jurisdiction. We handle permitting when your project requires it, so you’re not the one tracking that down.
Usually not, unless the damage came from a covered event like a storm or rodent infestation. Most insurers treat aging or worn-out ductwork as a maintenance issue, so check with your provider before assuming coverage.
Ductwork replacement isn’t a DIY project. Correct sizing, sealed connections, and proper insulation all affect how your AC performs, and mistakes here can void equipment warranties and hurt airflow for years. Florida requires a licensed HVAC contractor for this work.
Most residential ductwork lasts 10 to 25 years depending on the material and how well it was installed. Florida attic heat and humidity tend to shorten that window compared to milder climates.
Sheet metal ductwork holds up longest, often 20 to 30 years, and resists mold better than flexible duct. Flexible duct is more common because it’s faster to install and less expensive, but it typically needs replacing sooner in attic heat.
Not automatically, but it’s worth checking. A new AC system sized for your home won’t perform to spec connected to old, undersized, or leaky ductwork built for different equipment.
Yes, the AC is typically off while ductwork is disconnected and replaced, so your home runs warmer than usual until the job’s done, especially in Florida heat. Expect some dust around attic access points and supply registers, our technicians clean up before leaving.
